Preview: Liverpool Vs Lille

Big Match For Kop Tonight

Yes it's going to be a big one.

They play Lille tonight at home and they are down a goal. Now this Eurpoa League is big for them. It's their only chance for salvation for a season gone mighty wrong.

And it doesn't look good.

Aquilani who played so well during the weak is reported to be down with a virus and he'e a doubt. ( see story here )

And Maxi Rodriguez is cup tied for the competition.

And then you have Albert Reira lashing out publicly against Rafa ( see earlier posting: More Trouble From Kop End? )

Things looking bleak tonight for Liverpool?

Hang on. It's Anfield and recent stats are actually in Liverpool's favour. No joke!

Since crashing out to Reading at home in the FA Cup, Liverpool has actually won their last 6 home matches. And Lille has not being strong away from home in the Europa league. They have lost their last 3 away matches in the Europa league.

So if you ask me, I believe Liverpool might have the edge. They are playing the match on the back of an impressive 4-1 win against bottom club Portsmouth ( cynics would suggest to discount the match and since man-of-the-match Aquilani is a doubt tonight, this should nullify Liverpool's home ground advantage) and I believe they have the motivation to do well tonight. Losing tonight will be massive since they will have to face a very impressive Man United team at Old Trafford ( based on the fact Man United recent home form has indeed being very impressive). And Torres did look sharp.

How?

I have a feeling that Liverpool might sneak a result tonight.

But I hope not.

LOL! LOL! LOL!

Yeah, the black hearted me, would prefer to see them lose.

Torres should has gained back his sense of goal after scored 2 on Monday night. He will keep scores tonight and brings Liverpool to Europe League quarter final.

Visitor Lilie are a tough team and greatly perform in this season. However, they are still a level lower compare to Liverpool. In a must win critical situation, I am backing the Reds to win in style.
